How store credit posts

Store credit posts automatically on the night the first payroll after the contest ends is built — here's the schedule and what can hold it up.

Once you've picked store credit, here's exactly when it shows up and what can delay it.

The nightly run

  1. Nothing pays while a contest is running. Store credit, like payroll, is paid on the first payroll after the contest ends (after each cycle, if the contest repeats).
  2. Kief posts it automatically, with no manager approval needed, on the night that payroll is built: the first nightly run on or after the end of that pay period. For example, a contest that ends on October 31 is paid with the pay period that ends November 1, and its store credit posts the night of November 2.
  3. Once posted, it's on your own customer profile in the POS, ready to spend.

Note: Re-running the process on a night with a hiccup is safe — Kief never posts the same earning twice.

What can hold an earning back

A store-credit earning can land in Needs review instead of posting, if:

  • Your POS customer profile isn't linked yet, or your home store isn't set.
  • There's an open fraud flag on the earning.
  • Posting it would push a contest past its budget cap.
  • You have a larger negative balance to net out first.

If the POS definitely can't credit you (for example, you have no customer profile in the POS), Kief doesn't leave the money waiting: it pays that earning through payroll instead, on the next payroll batch.

A held earning posts automatically on the first nightly run after the hold clears — you don't need to do anything but wait, unless you want to ask why. See if an earning looks wrong.

The daily posting limit

The POS only accepts so much store credit per employee per day. If a single night's earnings would go over that, the amount that fits posts that night and the rest posts on the following night (or nights) — it isn't lost, just spread out.

Tip: A big goal or leaderboard prize is the most likely thing to spread across two nights. Check your payout history if a large payout looks split.
