Your privacy in Kief
What a leaderboard shows about you, and what a vendor can and can't see.
Last updated 2026-09-25
Kief shares some information about you within the app, and with brands who fund contests — here's exactly what, and what it never shares.
What Kief holds about you
Kief holds your name, store, role, active status, and the details it needs to match your point-of-sale sales to you, along with your earnings, payout records, payout preferences, and any dispute notes you've raised. It does not hold your pay rate, contact details, home address, or a government ID number.
What other employees can see
- On a leaderboard contest, everyone on that same board can see your first name, last initial, store, rank, and the sales measure being ranked — never your full last name.
- A commission or goal contest that isn't a leaderboard is private to you. Nobody but you and Program Administrators can see your progress or earnings on it.
Tip: This is also the name format you'll see for other teammates on a board — first name and last initial, not full names.
What a vendor can see
A vendor brand that funds a contest never sees your earnings, your sales figures, or your rank. When a vendor sets up a contest, it can see the first name, last initial, store, and role of employees at the stores it's allowed to sponsor — nothing more. Once a contest is running, a vendor only sees results as store and product totals, not anything tied to an individual.
Who can see your actual earnings
Program Administrators and store managers can see earnings for the stores and contests they oversee, since that's what running the program requires. This information stays inside the Company — see getting help if you ever have a question about who's looked at your Kief records.
